A Deliciously Different Idea
Nittany Pizza began with the idea of opening a Pizza and Sandwich shop that offered more than the usual “same old boring” food you get in other pizza shops or the bland pizza that the chain stores sell.
Inspired by Food shows like Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive ins and Dives” and the fun menus you find in college towns (like State College!!!), we opened our doors in 2012 with a menu unlike any other shop in Central PA. ( In case you haven’t noticed – we are huge Penn State Fans! Famous Penn Staters and Big Ten Football provide many of the names for our wraparitos and sandwiches. )
Our Pizza isn’t the typical “New York Style” that you typically find in this area. Our Pizza is based on the “New England Style” Shallow Pan Pizza, but we do use a “New York” Style Pizza Sauce. Our crust is a little thicker than you usually find around here and our cheese is the finest money can buy.
We don’t have “subs”, instead we have Baked To Order Sandwiches (BTO’s). Each BTO is baked fresh for you. Other shops have a “chesseburger sub” – we have three kinds of “Cheeseburger” BTO’s – The NITTANY LION, The BUCKEYE and The SPARTAN!!! Our BTO’s often have fun things inside like french fries, mozzarella sticks, cole slaw, different cheeses and different sauces.
We don’t have wraps – we have Wraparitos! Our wraps are so full of goodness we have to wrap them up like a burrito! Try a JOE PA Wraparito with Hamburger, American cheese, french fries, coleslaw, lettuce, tomato and our signature bangin’ spread (homemade garlic & herb aioli spread).
VEGAN VISION
One of our missions when we opened in 2012 was to provide different options to the under served Vegan Community in our area. It wasn’t easy sourcing the Vegan items back then, that’s for sure! We were only the second pizza shop in Pennsylvania to offer Vegan Pizza (Blackbird in Philly opened up about a year before us.) We were one of the first pizza shops offering Vegan Pizza in a small city or town in the United States.
We also pioneered Vegan Pizza and Burrito delivery in 2012. Sure, today with third party companies like Uber Eats, you can get just about anything delivered – but we are proud to have been the first to offer this service to our Vegan customers back then.

Our Family
Our family has been serving Central Pennsylvania for over 50 years and we first started making pizzas way back in 1984! A great big Thank You to all those families who have given us love and support all these years!
